Spring is finally ‘officially’ here in the UK and I’m already dreaming of warm days in the garden with birds singing, my garden blooming and a glass of wine (or maybe two) in my hand.
To celebrate Spring I thought I would write about daffodils – which are suddenly everywhere – and a way I like to play with them.
A daffodil/narcissus is usually a very beautiful and happy flower, but sometimes I just want to give them a bit more oomph. Lipstick if you will. One of the fun things about this flower is that all of their veins are on show which means you can change the look of them by what goes in them. I like to cut a few and then put them in a glass of water mixed with food colouring until I get my desired effect. The picture above was an experiment with white daffodils…
