The Kirstenbosch Botanical Society held its city-famous annual Plant Fair over the weekend of 12/13 April 2014. The Carpenter’s Shop was there! In fact, we’d specially focused on the production of a range of planters, to tie in with the whole plant/garden thing.

We use recycled wood from pine pallets, and leave it untreated. We add a durable plastic lining (with holes for the water to drain), and a neat beaded edge.

Our 200mm planters, like the ones below, are priced at R245. And with a ready-made herb garden planted up, they’re R285.

Our most popular item was the planter on legs, at 800mm it’s the perfect height for patio or balcony gardening:
