For quite a while now, I’ve wanted to grow my own herbs at home. I think that it’s so much more enjoyable to use home-grown plants than it is to buy them at a supermarket. It’s also much more rewarding to use them in culinary ventures as you know that you helped them to grow.
I brought this set from my local garden centre, as it came with seeds, soil and pots. The soil was dehydrated and within seconds of adding water it expanded to around four times its previous size. The seeds it came with were coriander, basil and parsley.
The coriander began to grow within just a few days, and is by far the fastest growing plant of the three. The basil is probably the slowest growing, although it is my favourite of the three due to the difference in its appearance, its flavour and scent.
